Charity & Service
Benevolent Fund
The Benevolent Fund functions under St. Mary's Cathedral Trust, with a simple aim: to extend a helping hand to the poor and the needy, in the name of Christ.
"The organisation aims to extend a helping hand to the poor and the needy — a living expression of the Church's call to serve Christ in the suffering."
Our Work
What the fund does
Financial Assistance
During 2015–16, the Benevolent Fund provided financial assistance to eleven persons and organisations in need, including our sister church in Chennai during the devastating floods of that year.
Asraya Easter Lunch
The Benevolent Fund organised and provided an Easter lunch to the inmates of Asraya — an organisation that cares for the poor and marginalised — as an expression of the Easter joy shared with all.
Ongoing Outreach
The fund continues to extend a helping hand to individuals and groups facing hardship, in keeping with the Cathedral's calling to be a neighbour to all.
